Energy and Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has released ways in which Kenyans can know and differentiate authentic and counterfeited LPG gas cylinder?
They include applying a soapy solution to the pipes connecting the cylinder to the stove and If there is a gas leak, bubbles will appear after applying the soap solution, indicating a potential hazard.
Kenyans are also advised to buy LPG Gas only from licensed suppliers.
cylinders with broken safety caps or lacking seals should not be accepted, as they may indicate potential counterfeit gas.
Buyers should also confirm the due date of testing of the cylinder found in the inner side of the cylinder.
