Cult leader Paul Mackenzie to be released in the next 14 days

Shanzu Court through Justice Y.A Shikanda has threatened to release cult leader Paul Mackenzie in the next fourteen days if the state will not have charged him by then.

Meanwhile the prosecutor has been asking for more time to conclude its investigations.

If released, Mackenzie’s famous saying of ‘Kitawaramba’ may come to haunt the prosecution that seemed to have not gathered enough evidence after months of carrying out its investigations with no conclusion.

Mr. Machenzie is being accused of leading a cult that led to the deaths of over 400 of his victims.

He has now been held for over 10 months making him the suspect to be held for the longest time in detention in Kenya after the passing of the 2010 constitution.

The cult leader is currently just being charged with carrying out unauthorized education without license.
