Starlet Wahu, also known as Icey Wife, was a prominent figure in the beauty world, known for selling designer clothes and shoes.
The body of Starlet, the sister of controversial preacher Pastor Victor Kanyari was found lying in a pool of blood at an Airbnb in South B, Nairobi after spending some time with Matara, a suspect now being held by the police.
After new revelations about the suspect in her murder, it could now be seen that Wahu could have fell into the trap of a fraudster.
A woman who was also a victim came out claiming that Matara lured her into a similar trap on December 29, 2023 and tortured her with a hot iron box to compel her to give him access to her financial accounts.
The victim whose identity was not revealed while speaking to the media showed marks of healing stabbed wounds on her neck. She added that Matara transferred money from her Mpesa accounts after inflicting pain on her and threating her with death. She reported the matter to the police station but the suspect was never apprehended.
The victim said that she met Matara on a dating site before they set up to meet in a rented Airbnb apartment.
