A number western leaders condemned ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford kenya Moses Wetangula’s decision to join Ruto saying it was suicidal.
The leaders met at Kakamega golf Hotel yesterday.
The leaders said Mudavadi and wetangula have betrayed the Luhyia community and that they do not speak on behalf of the Luhyias. The meeting was led by Cotu Secretary Francis Atwoli, Governor Wycliff Oparanya nad Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa. They urged the luhya community to reject the duo as well as Deputy President’s bid for President.
The meeting reached a five point resolution to support Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja.
“We are condemning Mudavadi and Wetang’ula in the strongest terms possible over their attempts to auction the community to Ruto,” Lurambi Member of parliament Titus Khamala who read the resolution said.
Atwoli urged western leaders to drum support for Raila’s Azimio La Umoja Coalition adding that Wetangula and Mudavadi would have remained relevant only if they had stuck with Raila.
Other leaders who attended the meeting included; Raphael Wanjala (Budalang’i), Governors Wycliffe Wangamati (Bungoma), Sospeter Ojaamong’ (Busia) and Wilber Ottichilo (Vihiga), MPs Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), Kizito Mugalia (Shinyalu), Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani), Ayub Savula (Lugari), Naomi Shiyonga (Nominated Senator), Godfrey Osotsi (Nominated MP) and Oku Kaunya (Teso North) , Geoffrey Omuse (Teso South), Gertrude Musuruve (Nominated Senator), Elsie Muhanda (Kakamega Woman Rep), Chris Aseka (Khwisero), Eseli Simiyu (Tongaren), Caleb Amisi (Saboti) and Chris Omulele (Luanda).
