Waiguru – Ruto has enough reasons to worry about his political base in Mt.Kenya

Governor Ann Waiguru has reacted to Kiambaa by-election saying that Deputy President William Ruto should worry about his support base in Mount Kenya since he needs more votes in the region more than anyone else.

“There are two warnings that could be extracted for both UDA and Jubilee from these by-elections. For UDA this is probably the best they will do in Central Kenya. That should worry DP Ruto who needs 101% of Mt Kenya support if his candidacy is to convert to the State House,” Governor Waiguru said.

The former Cabinet Secretary also noted that the ruling party Jubilee also needs to improve on its approach since the same election results indicate that most of its supporters are dissatisfied.

“For Jubilee, it is that its core supporters are unhappy and urgent action is needed to forestall further downwards slide,” the governor added.

In the just Concluded Kiambaa by-election, UDA candidate Njuguna Wanjiku defeated the Jubilee candidate Kairiri Njama with a 500 vote margin.

Governor Waiguru has also insisted that the by-election cannot be used as a lit minus paper for the next year’s general election as a lot may change by August 2022 given that a year in politics is such along time.
