US President Joe Biden said on Thursday that it supports Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas and other terrorists for firing rockets into Israel.
President Biden was speaking after a ceasefire betwewn Israel and Hamas in Gaza was announced by both conflicting parties.
“The United States fully supports Israel’s right to defend itself against indiscriminate rocket attacks by Hamas and other Gaza-based terrorist groups that have taken the lives of innocent civilians,” he said.
As reported by Aljazeera, the US President also affirmed that US support of Israel Military will continue and also thanked Egypt for its role in brokering the ceasefire agreement.
The statement by Biden stressed that USA will continue to work with United Nations and other world bodies to give humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
“We will do this in full partnership with the Palestinian Authority, not Hamas. …In a manner that does not permit Hamas to simply restock its military Arsenal,” he stressed in his speech.
