Stopping the Reggae again – Kibwana, Ndii and karua plan

While the Building Bridges Initiative campaign is in the process of signature collection a group of political elites and civil societies have planned to derail the process. The groups intend to go to court and lead street protest against the BBI.

The Group include Nark Kenya Party leader martha karua, makueni Governor Kivutha kibwana, economist david Ndii and former chief Justice Willy Mutunga.

Martha karua has decided to spearhead a ‘NO’ campaign against the BBI.

She said, “With humility and without hesitation, I am willing and set to lead the ‘No’ campaigns. We are calling on Kenyans to resist this illegitimate, illegal and ill-timed constitutional amendment initiative,” .

David Ndii on the other hand said they will apply all legal means to stop the BBI referendum process.

On Monday the court ruled that the legal process challenging the BBI will proceed, a case that was being opposed by the BBI proponents.

“This matter is of immense public interest; the issues raised are not only weighty but also complex and unsettled…the petitioners have crafted clear issues of law to be dealt with,” constitutional Court judge Anthony Mirima Ruled.
