Migori Governor Obado’s wife has differed with her husband by coming out to Support Azimio presidential Candidate Raila Odinga.
Obado on the other hand who was elected into the office on ODM ticket, currently do not see eye to eye with the ODM leader.
Obado have recently vowed to break Raila’s political dominance in Nyanza coming out publicly to support Kenya kwanza’a presidential candidate DP William Ruto.
Obado’s wife Hellen is vying for Migori Women Representative seat as an independent candidate. She has avoided using Obado’s Name in her Campaign telling Voters not to see her as Obado’s wife but as a woman leader. She uses the name ‘Hellen Adhiambo Odie’ in her campaign posters.
“I don’t want you to associate with my husband brand of politics. Treat me as Hellen Odhiambo Odie, the woman leader,’’ she said.
As Migori’s first lady, she once raised Ksh 8.2 milllion which was used to start “Kuku ni Pesa” project among women groups in the county. She has also in the past champions social issues such as free sanitary pads donations to teenage girls. Hellen is banking on here record of community service to get the county’s Women Rep office.
“I have been working for the people and if given a chance I will finish what I had started and leave a mark in the lives of women, youths and people with disability,” Hellen said.
