Residents of Luanda Kotieno Protest launch of new boat

A number of travelers on lake victoria comminuting between Luanda Kotieno and Mbita were on Tuesday stranded when residents of the area protested the launch of s new vessel Christened MV Captain David.

The Residents are said to fear that the new vessel will prevent them from making profits especially them that also own small boats.

Following the fierce protest, the Company managing the Vessel had to seek the intervention of the Kenya Coast Guard Services.

“We are not against the operations of the water bus company on this route but our concern is the move by the company to add another vessel whereby we were not consulted,” one resident said.
