Education officials have been dispatched to Sacred Girls High School Mukumu to probe alleged outbreak of malaria in the school after two students from the school died while many other still sick in various hospitals.
Western region coordinator of Education said the report by the investigators will be ready by tomorrow.
The officials will probe teachers, workers and students and come up with a report.
Parents in the school have in the recent past complained about the slow response by the school in the face of rampant illness of students.
“Kindly investigate the deaths of students in Mukumu Girls High School due to the administration’s mismanagement while the students were sick. One student, Nicole, will be buried on July 7 in Kitale,” one Emmanuel Toili posted on twiter.
It was established by Kakamega County executive for Health Services that there was an outbreak of malaria in the school. This was after Ministry of Health Disease Surveillance and Outbreak Response Unit was sent to the western school.
