Detective in Mombasa yesterday morning arrested a man after a video of him torturing another man circulated widely on social media.
Swabir Abdulrazaq who works as security guard at Ajab Unga Factory in Shimanzi in Mombasa went into hiding when he realized that there was an arrest warrant for him.
The police however arrested him after a tip from the public.
Swabir tortured the suspect by burning him using the flame drops of the net as he wiped him with a plastic pipe for trespassing the company’s premises.
“The victim, whose hands were tied and neck secured on an electricity pole using a rope, wailed in despair as he begged for mercy, from the visibly happy tormentor,” Police statement recorded.
The suspect who has not yet been identified is said to be a street boy.
Swabir said he took the suspect to the police but the police have confirmed that no report similar to his incident was reported to any police station in Mombasa on the same day of the incident.
Police is currently looking for the suspect for medical attention and file his statement.
The Police said that Swabir will be arraigned in court tomorrow to answer to charges of grievous harm, with charges of attempted murder also being considered.
