Talking during a press conference on Tuesday, Mwangi Wa Iria said he will Support Azimio la Umoja presidential Candidate Raila Odinga.
Iria was locked out of the presidential race by the IEBC for not meeting the required citeria.
Describing himself as the defector leader of Murang’a, he urged residents of the county to give Raila the 620,000 votes in the August election.
“ I am finding myself sitting in the cabinet. I am telling the people of Muranga to rally behind me. Let’s give the 620k votes to Raila, We will demand that Raila gives me a cabinet position,” Wa Iria said.
The outgoing Murang’a governor said he had a sitting with Raila Odinga who agreed to merge his manifesto with Azimio’s.
He said that after deliberation with Raila, farmers will now receive free seeds and each homestead in Murang’a will have one cow as milk is the mainsource of income for many families in the region.
