Opinion by Abuto Eliud
Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi the man to watch as an alleged explicit video of himself surfaced online. This video has propelled this 2022 presidential candidate, previously unknown to many Kenyans, to the limelight. The entire nation is actually now engaged in discourse focussed on this man! This, despite harassments charge by his self-proclaimed girlfriend, Diana Opemi Lutta (pictured)
If in deed the video is an actual image of his physique and attributes, and not a photoshop as alleged in some quarters, then Kenyans are now well acquainted with this former Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, UNCTAD, having known him both inside and out!
Clearly this son of Kenya is very brilliant and the world is aware, having been at the top of UNCTAD. Bad publicity never caused any Kenyan leader any political harm. So, with the obvious social media frenzy and according to a number of mainstream media reports, the video is actually giving him mileage. Of course you can remember the hue and cry over Baba Abby, something that actually gave him a lot of traction even though he’s a professed Christian believer.
Could Mukhisa be the alternative we’ve been waiting for to steer a team to rescue this country from poverty, from stifling corruption and from tribalism? This video incident apart and alleged Ksh 1 million extortion, Mukhisa is still respected the world over. His supporters believe that being very eloquent, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi could successfully market Kenya to the world and thus boost our economy.
