In a meeting held in Karen at MP Rigathi Gachagua’s home, 48 Members of Parliament allied to DP Ruto from Mount Kenya region set conditions before throwing their weight behind his 2022 presidential ambitions
The members of parliament want Deputy President to share his economic plan for the region should he win the 2022 presidential race.
Among the list of economic demands to Ruto are; infrastructural development, water projects and financing traders and reviving agricultural sector.
The leaders from central Kenya are saying that under Uhuru’s leadership, central Kenya has been neglected economically.
Mathira Member of parliament said that they want “to be guaranteed minimum returns under Ruto’s Presidency”.
Should the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) succeed in the expected referendum, Central Kenya MP’s have demanded to be allotted key sits in the Next government including; Deputy President Slot, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime minister sits.
Gachagua insisted that DP Ruto must publicly agree to their stated demand if they are to support him for 2022 presidential race.
