The former Cabinet minister, Mr. Simeon Nyachae is set to be buried today at his home in Kisii county. His funeral service to be held at Gusii Stadium with head of state in attendance together with the Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi who is Mr.Ruto’s ally in the county, was arrested shortly before Ruto’s arrival at Kisii School. Mr. Maangi had gone to receive his leaders but was surprised of the arrest. He is currently being grilled at Kisii Central Police Station by DCI officers.
One of Mr. Maangi’s personal assistant Mr. Sam Sagana said that the deputy governor was commanded to enter the detective’s car after which they fed off to their officers in Kisii where he is being grilled.
Mr. Sagana complained of not knowing the reason for his arrest while some sources from the police intelligence team said that they had some information about chaos being planned by Mr. Maangi to take place at the burial.
