Millicent Omanga named in Kenya Prisons service fake tender deal worth billions of Shillings

Millicent Omanga

A sole Proprietor business named Milways Enterprises associated with Milicent Omanga is under investigations by the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission over dubious Kenya Prisons Tender worth Billions of Shillings.

The business was registered by Omanga back in 2009. By then, Omanga who is now 40 and vying for Nairobi women representative seat was only 27years.

The (EACC) started looking into the business back in 2019 when it was awarded a huge contract to supply gun slings to Kenya Prisons Service. The Contract could have cost tax payers a total of over 4.8 billion shillings with no assurance of delivering the goods.

EACC stopped release of funds to the tender though the Kenya Prisons Service had okayed release of 80% of the tender funds to supplier.

Legally Sole proprietor businesses are not allowed to bid for big government tenders through they can be allowed to bid for smaller tenders worth less in terms of money.

The contract that was to be awarded to Mrs. Omanga also seemed erroneous since gun sling are normally fitted into the guns during manufacturing.

Investigators point that the process was an inside job with prisons official who signed the false contracts.

It is also strange how a business that deals with importation of furniture got involved in supplying goods of National security to the government.

According to The Nation, records at the Business Registration Offices have Millicent Omanga’s Name, Phone Number and Email as details of the owner of Milways Enterprises.
