Milimani Law Court’s family division shut down after 3 staff test positive for Covid 19

The family division of the milimani law court will remain closed for one week after 3 staff members of the court tested positive for Covid 19.

Acting Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu confirmed that one of the staff members has been hospitalized.

She said that the court will remain closed for 7 days to break the chain of transmission of the virus as well as to allow the staff to quarantine in accordance with the ministry of health requirements.

Mwilu also acknowledge the fact that there is high level of movement of files and staff hence there exist the potential of spread of Corona Virus.

“Due to the high level of movement of files and the extensive interaction between staff, as well and between staff and clients and court users, we are apprehensive of the potential for significant spread of virus,” read part of the statement by the acting CJ.

In July last year, the then Chief justice David Maraga ordered the Milimani law court to be closed for 14 day after some judicial staff members showed Covid 19 – like signs.
