There was a commotion and drama in Eastleigh Nairobi as Kenya Bureau of Standard Raided different businesses in search of contraband goods.
The raid however did not go as planned as most traders got word of the raid before it happened and closed their shops. Many traders were seen trying to block the officers from carrying out the raid.
In the end, two suspects were arrested and 400 different cosmetic goods confiscated.

“We involved the Directorate of Criminal Investigation to help us carry out the raid,” Said KEBS CEO, Esther Ngari,, “There is overwhelming evidence that a number of beauty products in the country are not genuine. Some that are used for bleaching contain hydroquinone and mercury that can course skin cancer. Our role is to protect the consumers, she added.”
