KDF officer killed in a bandits attack

Bandits raided a military camp in Mukutano on Thursday 8pm and killed a KDF officer in the process of fire exchange.

The area chief Benjamin Lecher reported that the camp hosted Rapid Deployment unit (RDU), Kenya Defense Forces Officers and General Service Unit.

“There was an exchange of firearm that saw the KDF officer killed. His body is still lying at the camp,” said Chief Lecher.

Political leaders from the region requested for one month grace period to carry out peace and disarmament campaign but a month down the line the security has not improve.

A few days ago Rift valley Regional Commissioner (RC) George Natembeya announced that security operations in northwestern counties of Baringo, Turkana and Laikipia will resume to curb the insecurity that has gotten out of hand yet again.

“We cannot allow bandits to unleash terror on innocent civilians. We have decided to go for them now that they don’t want peace,” Natembeya Said.

Natembeya also re-introduced 6p.m t 6p.m curfew in the region.
