The family of Juja MP Francis Munyua Waititu confirmed that he passed away on Monday evening at MP Shah Hospital Nairobi while receiving treatment.
Munyua who was also famously known as Wakapee is said to have been battling brain cancer from 2018.
Following his demise many leaders took to social media to express their condolences.
Hon Moses Kuria said, ” Hon Francis Munyua Waititu ‘Wakapay’ was a very dear and close friend. When I vied for the Gatundu South seat in the 2014 by-elections Wakapay was the only sitting MP to defy all odds to come out and openly campaign for me. Over the 7 years that we served together Juja and Gatundu South were sister constituencies. On the request of Wakapay i agreed that we extend the Gatundu-Mukinye- Juja road to Juja Farm. Rest in Peace my brother Wakapay.”
On the other hand Governor Wickliffe Oparanya said, ”My heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and people of Juja constituency following the death of Hon Francis Munyua Waititu aka Wakapee.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
