How to care for Oily Skin

Most people with oily skin normally have low self-esteem in matters related to beauty. It is better to have a shiny hair not face. Too much oil on the face doesn’t look attractive at all.

It is believed that people with oily skin have a slim chance of being exposed to wrinkles than those with dry skin. This is due to the production of oil/sebum by the sebaceous glands that makes your skin stay nourished, lubricated and oily thereby preventing fine lines from appearing on your skin.

.When dealing with a complicated skin disorder, you need to apprehend what causes oily skin. Major factors to be blames for oily skin include hormonal and genetic changes.

During the maturity of sebaceous glands, the making of sebum rises and, the more the androgens exist in the body, the more the sebum is concentrated through the pores. This may lead to the increase of blackheads and pimples while the extra oil gets stuck in the pores and mixes with dead skin cells and bacteria.

Washing it out won’t be the solution but instead follow the tips below;

  1. Cleansing your skin on a daily basis

This is a vital phase in taking care of your skin. It should be done two times in a day; morning, and before bed time. This is to prevent the natural oil from strapping your skin. Make sure you wash your face with clean water and wipe with tissue when oil becomes uncomfortable.

Go for the chemical free cleanser especially one that has plant-based ingredients. Also consider oil free cleansers like those containing salicylic acid to keep your skin glossy hence getting rid of breakouts.

If you really want to put on make-up prime, wear make-up primer first which is only meant for oily and acne prone skin. This will be a good base for your make-up.

Consider concealer for coverage due to its less oil content than foundation. But in case you need some foundation, use mineral free or oil free ones.

Afterwards, you can then establish your foundation with a glowing light powder after the application of the foundation, polish it by spraying, to set the make-up set so that it stays longer. This is very vital because it formulates a blockade and fights the production of oil.

  • Apply Sunscreen

Most women with oily skin fear adding more oil to their face. Never the less, the effect of not doing so may lead to brown spots and hyper-pigmentation due to sun exposure.

Consider sunscreen that is meant only for oily skin which is gel based to make your face stay dry and protected well.

  • Watch your diet

What you consume in your body normally reflects how your skin appears on the outside. When you take foods which are not healthy, it can clearly be shown through your face. Get rid of sugary and oily foods.

Ensure you drink a lot of water, take green leafy vegetables and take some fruits in a day to be able to remove toxins from your body.

  • Use an astringent

Astringents are basically distinctive toners made for oily skin. Their role is normally to get rid of excessive oil and tighten the skin pores. Witch hazel is an example of an astringent which works wonders. Just apply it on a clean face with a cotton or pad then wipe around your face and neck area.

  • Don’t skip moisturizer

Don’t assume your skin is oily to avoid putting on a moisturizer because your skin needs to be hydrated.

If you follow all the above steps and ignore this one, then you will only worsen the complication. When your skin is exposed to moisture, it will make the sebaceous glands to yield excess oil to compensate.

Choose a cream that consists of humectant such as glycerin to draw moisture deep within the layers of the skin to the outer layer and also attract moisture from the air to make your skin stay hydrated or also consider an Emollient like vitamin E to repair the skin.
