Government lift Kapedo ‘6 to 6’ curfew

Fred Matiang’I, Interior cabinet Secretary yesterday announced the cease of Kapedo curfew that was put in place for the last 30 days to curb insecurity in the region.

Insecurity that was cause by cattle rustling in Kapedo got out of hands and saw deaths of many civilian and Police officers.

In a statement Matiang’I called off the Kapedo curfew that used to commence from 6.00pm to 6.00am “however, the 10.00pm – 4.00am curfew in line with the Presidential directives on revised Covid-19 containment measures are retained.”

As of now, normalcy has resumed in the area and Police have recovered 53 firearms.

“Cattle rustling, banditry and general lawlessness has been brought under control. Learning and other socio economic activities have also resumed,” he said.
