Fuel Prices Jump higher due to rising costs for landed petroleum products

Petroleum will cost ksh 134.72 from today Wednesday, the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) reported, indicating an increase by Ksh.7.58 from ksh 127.14.

On the Other hand, diesel rose from Ksh.115.60 from Ksh.107.66 while kerosene will be sold at Ksh.110.82 from Ksh.97.85.

EPRA has cited the increase due to increased costs for landed petroleum products. The energy regulation body says reported that at the moment landed super petrol rose by 0.72 per cent, diesel by 4.81 per cent and kerosene by 0.96 per cent.

The report also said fuel price stabilization fund has run out of reserves ending relief to Kenyans who had enjoyed unchanged fuel prices in the last 2 months.

Since the implementation of the fund in April, petrol prices have risen twice, by Ksh.3.56 in May and 77 cents in June while diesel and kerosene costs have not moved since the March 14 review.
