France and Poland re-introduce partial lockdown as Covid-19 infections increase

Poland and France have been seeing high numbers of Covid-19 infections and therefore both countries have re-introduced partial lockdown. So far over 21 million people in France are affected in what is believed to be the third wave.

Non-essential businesses, like cultural and sporting facilities in Poland are now shut-down for three weeks as the country is now battling the highest number of infections since November last year.

This happened as Covid -19 vaccine role out in Europe is being delayed by fear of side effects Oxford-AstraZeneca Vaccine that has seen some counties suspend its use.

Germany is also said to be recording High Corona Virus infections and Chancellor Angela Merkel is saying the country may impose a lockdown again.

France has so far recorded 4.2 million infections and almost 92,000 Corona Virus related deaths according to data from John Hopkins University. The France partial lockdown began on Friday Mid-night while Poland that has recorded over 2 million infections and close to 49,000 deaths will begin lockdown on Saturday, March 20.
