Monkeypox, the new deadly disease WHO is worried about

The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed concern over the fast spread if Monkeypox which has so far been identified in 12 countries registering a total of 92 cases as of sunday. WHO now intends to role out mitigation plans for other countries where the disease has not been recorded. Information points that human-to-human transmission is already occuring. List of politicians that IEBC has suspended from vying for any office

Late last week the IEBC released the list of politicians on its red list that may not be allowed to vie for any political office in the coming August general election. On top of the list is former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko who was impeached on grounds of abuse of office as well as Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu also impeached on ground of abuse of affoce and corruption allegations. Zimbabwe plans to sale Ivory stock pile to fund country’s conservation

Zimbabwean governmebt has put out a plan to sell some of its Ivory and Rhino horn stockpile to help manage the country’s conservation. The stockpile is estimated to be $600 according to the Herald Newspaper. Zimbabwe leads in the number of elephants worldwide owning 65% of world’s elephant population. According to the convention on trade in endangered species, only in certain circumstances can trade in elephants be allowed.
